Wenatchee Riverfront Park

Wenatchee Riverfront Park

Wenatchee Riverfront Park owned by the Public Utility District No. 1 of Chelan County, includes nearly 30 acres in an urban setting along the Columbia River Rock Island Dam Reservoir. A ten foot wide paved trail meanders through the park, connecting other sections of a 10 mile long trail loop. The park includes restroom buildings, boat launch facilities, parking lots, architectural retaining walls supporting a riverside promenade, and picnic facilities.

With strict consideration of the proposed site, DOH researched and developed a plan which would be environmentally responsible to the community and provide a site developed for the future. A portion of the park, previously a garbage dump, received a venting system and was covered with a clay layer. Site furnishing which would allow continued settlement were selected for the project.
