—The Firm

The DOH Associates provides comprehensive planning, analysis and design services for private, corporate and government clients throughout Eastern Washington.

Our core objective is to provide sincere, attentive care to each of our clients as we translate their vision into designs. Our familiarity with the area's climate and character gives us a distinct advantage in designing facilities that optimize the region's unique qualities.

We define, articulate and implement solutions based on comprehensive analyses of program requirements, site size, access, topography, and climate, as tested against budget and code constraints. We take into consideration aesthetic issues such as the direction and diffusion of natural light, the manner in which textures and colors flow, how the structure will mesh with its surroundings, and environmental impact. The resulting designs are specialized and efficient with a unique sense of place.

Simple yet meaningful principles transcend all levels of our firm. We value the unique specializations, skills and talents that each member of our staff brings to The DOH Associates. We value creativity and innovation. Our services exhibit focused attention to detail while the complete scope of the project is also examined. Quality control programs are implemented on each phase of every project.

Client satisfaction endorses our dedication to attentive service and design excellence; over 75% of our projects during the last several years have been for repeat clients.

Effective, efficient solutions to design challenges are inherently found in each client’s site, program and budget.

—Our History

David O. Harris founded his architecture practice, David O. Harris and Associates, in Seattle in 1963. Over the years, his firm grew and evolved, adapting to changes in the industry and developing a reputation for excellence in design.

In 1969, David Harris relocated his practice to Wenatchee and became associated with deMers-Rowe and Associates, forming the firm of Rowe/Harris and Associates. He took charge of the firm and served as its principal until 1978 when David Schott came aboard as a partner and reorganized the firm into the present day firm, The DOH Associates. Over the years, they worked closely to expand the business until David O. Harris retired in 1996, and Paul Coppock took over as the managing principal. Together, they further expanded the firm until 2018, when David Schott retired. Larry Gangle, who began his career with The DOH Associates with Paul in 1992, returned to The DOH Associates as a partner after several years working as a project manager and architect for a general contractor.

Since then, Paul and Larry have diligently pursued the firm's objectives of delivering visually stunning and practical spaces across the various realms of architecture, encompassing commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Their commitment to achieving these goals has driven their dedication to their craft, and helped them to maintain and improve The DOH Associates’ reputation, originally earned by David O. Harris, of being very accomplished and reliable architects.
