Wenatchee School District Sunnyslope Elementary School
Sunnyslope Elementary was built in 1959 and is located in one of the fastest growing areas in the District. The original building consisted of two classroom wings. The DOH Associates modernized the wings and converted one wing to a library, small classrooms and a music room. The second wing converted a portion to a multi-purpose room. The project added a new gymnasium, offices, and classroom wing. The modernization included new mechanical and electrical systems. Structurally the existing roof was replaced with a pitched roof that incorporated a mechanical mezzanine down each classroom wing, including the new classrooms. This accessible mezzanine provided access to all classrooms during the modernization and for future extensions of utilities and data wiring.
