Walla Walla Regional Airport
Flow patterns developed for this regional model airport provide for departing passengers to enter the terminal at one end and move through the airlines check-in process, security screening, secure holding area and then exiting to boarding without crossing paths with arriving passengers. Arriving passengers are provided ample area for greeting family and friends, and on to the baggage claim before exiting the terminal. In addition to the air traffic needs, the building design included upper tenant areas, conference center, a gift shop, and a full service restaurant and bar. Site development included a new aircraft apron, patron and employee parking lots, service yards and a loop access road. Walla Walla’s historic character is reflected in the selection of construction materials and site features.
